Since the 1950's women's swimwear has evolved a lot, back then women used to bath fully clothed. Nowadays, on the contrary, many women go to the beach or the pool in much more revealing bathing suits. There are many different cuts, shapes and styles of swimwear but there is one style that has remained quite the same over the years, and that, of course, is the infamous bikini.
Ever since its first release in the fashion world in the early 50's the bikini has been a non-stop hit, at beaches and holiday resorts all over the world. Helped along by the number 1 song 'Yellow Polka Dot Bikini' in 1960, women everywhere loved the bikini and still do to this day. There are a wide variety of styles of bikini, ranging from high coverage to the ultra low thong styles. One of the most recent styles that is gaining popularity quickly, is the Micro Bikini.
The Micro Bikini is pretty self explanatory, it is a very small bikini intended to give an extremely low coverage look. They usually consist of a string type of bikini with a thong style bottom and a triangle cup top with a string tie at the back, when worn properly the micro bikini can be a very impressive look! They are for the braver women who don't mind trying a new daring fashion style, but they are now widely accepted and it would fine to wear when sunbathing in your garden at home or on your favourite beach!
Micro bikinis are also very good for sunbathing, as it minimizes tan lines and gives you a reasonably even tan all over. This is probably why its becoming one of the most popular styles of swimwear today. Rumour has it they originated from the beaches of Brazil where women used to move their normal bikinis and tuck them in when sunbathing to get the best tan they could, which is when someone thought of the idea to make a really low coverage suit instead. They then caught on all over the beaches in Rio De Janeiro and were soon to be one of the most popular styles, everyone knows Brazil to be one of the trend setting places in swimwear fashion, so the rest of the world followed suit pretty quickly.
Shopping for a Micro Bikini today is reasonably easy most high street shops that stock swimwear usually have some Micro Bikinis in their collection. If not there is an abundance of them online, you can easily find a style for you, as I say there is not one set style of Micro Bikini they all come in different shapes and sizes. There are lots of different colours, different style tops and bottoms, some come embroidered or with jewels sewn on.
A good idea if you are not too confident with wearing a full low-coverage Micro Bikini just yet, is to mix and match tops/bottoms of bikinis. A lot of shops and online stores offer this option and I think it's a great idea. For example if you have larger breasts and would not feel comfortable wearing a skimpy, unsupportive Micro Bikini top to the beach, then you could mix micro bottoms with a more supportive Halter Neck style top instead, or visa versa.
Do be warned though, Micro Bikinis being what they are naturally, low coverage, high exposure and very revealing swimsuits, do not leave much to the imagination and do not hide much. If there are and areas you do not feel comfortable about, they will most likely be exposed so it's a good idea to have a good waxing or shaving regime ready before you go out in your new Micro Bikini. Any excess fat or flab will also be on show so engaging in a light work out schedule a few weeks or months before bikini season might be a good idea if you want to look really sexy!
However, don't be put off by Micro Bikinis, millions of women all over the world swear by them and when worn right can look better than any other style. So why not try a Micro Bikini this summer and see if you don't feel like the sexiest person on the beach!
